Tangerine Plaza project faces $7M gap as funding requirement remains unmet, emails show

The clock is ticking for the Tangerine Plaza developer to provide proof of financing before its one-year, city-granted extension expires in January. Sugar Hill Group wants to move forward with its proposed redevelopment of the long-vacant south St. Petersburg shopping center called Tangerine Plaza into 186 affordable housing units and a grocery store. St. Petersburg City Council approved a one-year extension for the group last December to secure funding and find a grocer for the project.
