St. Pete selects afforadble housing developer for mixed-use project in The Deuces

The city of St. Petersburg has selected a proposal for the redevelopment of one of the last remaining large parcels in the Deuces.

Mayor Ken Welch selected Magellan Housing, a South Florida- and Texas-based affordable and workforce housing developer, to transform the 3-acre city-owned property into a mixed-use development with mixed-income housing, according to an email obtained by the Business Journal. Seven bids were submitted for the northern section of the Deuces along 22nd Street South, and each contained housing components, including a bid backed by Ark Invest CEO Cathie Wood and venture capitalist Tim Draper.
