St. Leo commissioners reject proposed 628-home development on golf course

After hours of back and forth over the future of a 66-year-old golf course in a small town in Pasco County, the green will stay intact.

St. Leo Commissioners voted 4-0, with Commissioner Apollo Rodriguez abstaining, on Wednesday evening to deny a comprehensive plan amendment and rezoning request that would have given national developer Ryan Homes the green light to make way for 628 homes — 440 single-family homes and 188 townhomes — on the site of The Abbey Golf Course.
