Sushi restaurant to take over former Tampa Joe's

A sushi restaurant will take over the space formerly occupied by local sports bar Tampa Joe's near AMC Veterans 24.

Sushi Alive, a Japanese full-service restaurant and bar, will open its second location in a 6,000-square-foot space at 9316 Anderson Road. Co-owners Timmy and Jennifer Ly bought the property on March 6 for $3.3 million, according to Hillsborough County property records. No permits have been filed to the county yet.
