Home Depot plans first store in Palmetto

National hardware retailer Home Depot plans to open its first store in Palmetto.

A building permit was filed in Manatee County for a 106,651-square-foot Home Depot to rise on vacant land in Palmetto at 7840 Moccasin Wallow Road. Site plans show a 28,156-square-foot attached garden center, bringing the Palmetto store to 134,807 square feet. The new store is at the intersection of Moccasin Wallow Road and Carter Road.
