Tampa is seeking proposals for downtown police HQ

Tampa has put its police headquarters up for sale, potentially opening up a prime redevelopment site in the heart of the urban core.

The city of Tampa is seeking proposals for its downtown headquarters at 411 N. Franklin St., according to a news release. The city intends to sell "Big Blue," as the building has been nicknamed, for a minimum of $36 million, with closing required no later than Jan. 31, 2027. The property is just over an acre and encompasses a full city block.
