St. Pete YMCA redevelopment moves forward with parking garage, remodel

The three projects comprising the redevelopment of the Jim and Heather Gills YMCA property in St. Petersburg are underway, with the YMCA renovation and a new parking garage next to begin construction.

The redevelopment, dubbed Whitney Village, consists of apartments developed by Greystar on the southeast side of the property, retail from Blake Investment Partners on the northeast side and the YMCA, which will be renovated using funds from the $12 million sale of the land to the apartment developer. A 600-space parking garage, which is set to break ground, will serve all three portions of the project.
