California investors buy Ybor City hotel

A limited-service hotel in the heart of Ybor City's historic district has a new owner.

The Hilton Garden Inn on East Ninth Avenue has sold to an entity linked to California-based T2 Hospitality, Hillsborough County property records show. Bank of America provided a $19.55 million mortgage for the transaction, property records show, and the sales price was recorded as $19.44 million. Recorded prices of hotel properties often do not reflect the total transaction, which includes furniture, fixtures and equipment.
