Downtown Clearwater tower will return to affordable housing

A Clearwater building will return to its affordable housing roots through a $51 million project.

Palm Beach-based Sunrise Affordable Housing Group acquired The Indigo apartments at 801 Chestnut St. in downtown Clearwater for $25.5 million. The project will convert all 208 units into affordable housing for residents earning between 30% and 80% of the area median income, roughly $25,020 to $66,720 a year for a two-person household.
