Skanska seeks contractors for $70 million West Tampa schools rebuild project

Contractors and subcontractors will soon have the chance to bid on jobs for the $70 million rebuild of two West Tampa schools.

In May 2024, Hillsborough County Public Schools tapped Skanska to rebuild Just Elementary School and Stewart Middle Magnet School at 1315 W. Spruce St. The existing Stewart Middle School will be demolished, but the gym will remain. The schools will be built around the gym in a horseshoe shape. According to HCPS, the final cost estimate will be determined in October.
