Manmade lagoon breaks ground in 3,000-home development in Manatee County

A 3,000-home community in Manatee County has broken ground one of its main amenities: a manmade lagoon.

Tampa-based Metro Development Group, the master developer of Seaire, on Friday marked the beginning of the construction of the lagoon. It is Metro's fifth manmade lagoon in Florida, according to the developer.
