St. Pete panel approves construction of 49-story Waldorf Astoria condo tower

The first branded condominium project in downtown St. Petersburg has received another approval, bringing construction of the city’s tallest building closer to fruition.

The St. Pete Development Review Committee on Wednesday unanimously voted in favor of the 49-story building’s site plan along with a building height bonus and floor area ratio bonuses. The project will deliver 164 condo units, 63,251 square feet of office space, 14,398 square feet of commercial space and 754 parking spaces. The existing 12-story office building on-site at 100 2nd Ave. S. will remain.
