First apartments open in Gasworx

Gasworx, the mixed-use district between Ybor City and downtown Tampa's Channel district, has opened its first residential building.

The opening of the 317-unit La Union Residences and Social Hall is a milestone for Gasworx: It is the first building to open in the 50-acre district that will bring hundreds of new residents to the urban core. It is also an important step toward placemaking for Gasworx, which until now has been a nebulous area in between the Ybor historic district and the Channel district.
