St. Pete spends millions on Tropicana Field remediation without knowing assessment results

The city of St. Petersburg has decided to pour public resources into fixing Tropicana Field before knowing its final assessed condition.

St. Pete City Council agreed on Thursday to spend about $6.49 million to take the first steps in salvaging what's left of the Tampa Bay Rays' stadium after Hurricane Milton blew its roof off and caused significant water damage in the team's offices.
