RETURN TO NEWS INDEX Jersey Jim Towers property sells to Walker Ford Jersey Jim Towers, a family-owned appliances and electronics store, has operated out of the Clearwater location for more than 30 years. The site at 17722 U.S. 19 N. sold for $2.8 million on May 23, according to a deed filed in Pinellas County.
Patrick Calhoon and Chris Calhoon of Calhoon Commercial Group of Smith & Associates Real Estate represented the seller for the transaction. Bill Eshenbaugh of Eshenbaugh Land Co. represented the buyer.
Jersey Jim Towers was founded in 1932 and was previously at the corner of Gulf to Bay Boulevard and U.S. Highway 19, which is now home to Costco. The business is owned by the son of the original founder, Jim Towers Sr.
According to a release, the company intends to remain temporarily at the existing location until further plans are solidified.
The site is directly across from the Bayside Center as well as Cove Cay Marina and the Cove Cay Golf Club. It is less than 5 miles from the St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport and is 6 miles from downtown Clearwater. |
