Vacation rental townhomes open on Clearwater Beach

A vacation rental townhome project on Clearwater Beach is now open.

The project, called The Gemma, features four townhomes at 19 Somerset St. The homes are 125 feet from Clearwater Beach. The Gemma was developed by Brightwild, a vacation home rental agency, and Tampa-based Clover Investment Properties, with ongoing management overseen by Brightwild.

Each unit can accommodate 14 guests with six bedrooms and six and a half bathrooms.

Clover and Brightwild broke ground on the units in fall 2022. Construction is fully complete, and the first stays began last week. The project held its grand opening May 9.

“Crafted with great attention to detail to help further our ability to create experiences for our guests, these four homes are tailored for group travel, situated just steps from the beach,” Billy Spottswood, founder and CEO of Brightwild, said in a release.

The homes each span 3,400 square feet and feature “expansive layouts and top-tier finishes.” The homes were furnished by Dwell Home Market and were decorated with art from Wendover Art Group. The four units are called Jade House, Onyx House, Pearl House and Akoya House.

The homes include a large chef’s kitchen, covered parking, a private pool and hot tub, an elevator to each floor and direct beach access, according to its website.

Clover is focused on “discovering and delivering innovative value-add real estate opportunities,” according to the release. Despite Clearwater Beach’s status as a top tourist destination, the company said there is a scarcity of vacation rentals specifically catering to larger families or groups.

“The compliments and excitement we have received over the last few months have been remarkable,” Brian Piccolo, Clover development manager, said in a release. “Each home provides a unique luxurious feel while offering spacious layouts, modern amenities and a private pool and spa.”
