Taylor Morrison plans nearly 1,000 homes in North Manatee

Taylor Morrison plans to build another of its Esplanade-branded communities in North Manatee County.

The Scottsdale, Arizona-based homebuilder said it is planning to build 960 homes in East Palmetto along Buckeye Road. That's on top of the 1,300 homes Taylor Morrison is planning in Parrish; that property will be known as Firethorn.

Taylor Morrison closed on the East Palmetto property on March 14. It paid $5.75 million for multiple parcels along Buckeye Road, Manatee County property records show.

Home sales in the new community will begin in mid-2025, the builder told the Tampa Bay Business Journal. Amenities will include a "wellness center, 'Bahama Bar,' resort-style pool, fitness center, bark park, butterfly garden and more," Taylor Morrison said.

Douglas Miller, Tampa division president for Taylor Morrison, previously told the Business Journal that the builder is bullish on North Manatee County. The new Esplanade community is less than a mile from Artisan Lakes, a master-planned Taylor Morrison community.

BayCare Health System, based in Clearwater, on Wednesday announced plans for a $548 million hospital in North Manatee County on Moccasin Wallow Road.

"We love northern Manatee County because of its convenient location to St. Pete, Sarasota and Tampa," Miller previously told the Business Journal. "It took a while — we were somewhat pioneering when we developed Artisan Lakes."
