RETURN TO NEWS INDEX Trader Joe's opening Palm Harbor location The California-based specialty grocer has added a Palm Harbor location to its list of Florida stores. The grocer will be coming to the Highlands Lake Plaza at 33591 US Hwy 19 N. The roughly 85,000-square-foot plaza is anchored by a Michaels and is owned by New York-based RPT Realty, according to the property appraiser. The company was acquired in January by Kimco Realty.
"We feel the community and location are a great fit," a spokeswoman for Trader Joe's told the Business Journal. "We look forward to providing our customers the outstanding value of the best quality products at the best everyday prices. Through our rewarding products and knowledgeable, friendly Crew Members, we have been transforming grocery shopping into a welcoming journey full of discovery and fun since 1967."
While a detailed timeline has not been announced the company said it intends to open the new store sometime in 2024.
“We are proud to be joining the neighborhood, and to continue our commitment to providing nourishment to the surrounding communities through our Neighborhood Shares program,” Trader Joe’s posted on its website.
The program donates "100% of products that go unsold but remain fit to enjoy to a range of nonprofit, community-based organizations, seven days a week," according to the company.
This will be the second Trader Joe's location in Pinellas County. In Tampa Bay, there are currently stores in St. Petersburg, Tampa, Bradenton and Sarasota. The Bradenton location recently opened in October.
Trader Joe’s first opened in Pasadena, California in 1967. It has since expanded nationwide to more than 540 locations in 42 states. |
