Waterfront home in South Tampa's Sunset Park fetches $10 million

A property once billed as the "crown jewel" of the South Tampa waterfront has sold for $10 million.

The home at 5155 W. San Jose St., which was built in 2021, sold Thursday to a Texas-based corporation, according to Hillsborough County property records. The sale appears to be a cash transaction as a mortgage has not been filed.

Mary Ann Porter of Tomlin St Cyr Real Estate Services represented the sellers, Philip Clifford and Paulina Collier, in the transaction.

Clifford and Collier bought the property in 2017 for $2.97 million and demolished the 1960s home on the site, property records show. The property is on the tip of a finger of land that juts into Tampa Bay.

"This was a rare opportunity for a buyer to purchase a fairly new, custom-built home on a magnificent waterfront property," Porter said in a statement. "With more than 195 linear feet of open bay view and located at the tip of the San Jose finger, this home was sought after by many and went under contract in just a few days."

The home is 5,265 square feet and has five bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms.
