$4.1 million home sale is highest in Polk County history

A lakefront Auburndale estate that sits on 44 acres has sold for $4.1 million, making it the most expensive home ever sold in Polk County.

The home at 501 Adams Barn Road has been listed for sale since 2021, when it hit the market priced at $6.25 million. Its initial asking price made it the most expensive home ever listed for sale in Polk County.

Louise Richer of Premier Sotheby’s International Realty marketed the home for sale.

“This record-breaking sale will go down in Polk County’s real estate history," Richer said in a statement. "A hidden gem with astounding beauty and panoramic views, the remarkable estate presents a picturesque luxury lifestyle in a sought-after destination."

The home is 9,200 square feet and has 2,300 feet of frontage on Lake Van. It was built for entertaining; it has a saltwater aquarium in the living room, a game room with a wet bar and a sauna, as well as multiple outdoor seating areas. The property also includes tennis courts and a covered boat lift as well as a gardener's garage and pumphouse.
