A Miami developer has revealed the hotel flag for its $200 million mixed-use development in downtown Tampa.

LD&D, the developer of the 2-acre project at 1101 E. Harrison St. in Tampa’s Encore district, said Thursday that the 178-key hotel in the development will be an Element by Westin. It will partner with Dynamic Group Management on the 10-story hotel.

The hotel marks Dynamic’s entrance into the Tampa market.

“Our Tampa market entry aligns seamlessly with our commitment to crafting valuable, community-enriching assets,” Roshan Amin, CEO of Dynamic, said in a statement. “We are excited about the strategic partnership with LD&D and look forward to leveraging our collective strengths for mutual success. This collaboration marks a significant step in our journey toward redefining hospitality standards and creating lasting value in the communities we serve.”

LD&D also said it has named the development Cass Square. In addition to the hotel, Cass Square includes DoMo at Cass Square, a 28-story, 360-unit apartment building with more than 45,000 square feet of amenity space, 586 parking spaces and 32,500 square feet of ground-floor retail.

The apartment tower and hotel will break ground in summer 2024.

Coastal Construction of Miami is the general contractor on Cass Square. Coastal has served as general contractor of some of Tampa’s marquee developments, including multiple towers in Water Street Tampa, the Ritz-Carlton Residences, Tampa, on Bayshore Boulevard and the Arts and Entertainment Residences in downtown Tampa.

“Our vision for Cass Square is to serve as a key centerpiece of downtown Tampa, connecting all its unique neighborhoods, and offering a dynamic mix of experiences that enhance quality of life for both residents and visitors,” Diego Bonet, managing partner of LD&D, said in a statement. “We are excited to introduce this community-centric concept in an invaluable location, furthering connectivity with Tampa’s main amenities as the city continues to experience impressive economic and population growth.”

LD&D is also planning to develop a $115 million mixed-use tower in downtown St. Petersburg near Tropicana Field.
