Former Playboy president lists under-construction Siesta Key mansion for $19.95 million

The former president of Playboy has listed an under-construction waterfront mansion in Siesta Key for sale for $19.95 million.

Entrepreneur Randy Nicolau broke ground on the home with plans to make it his personal retreat. But after seeing the value in the Sarasota real estate market, he listed it for sale as a development venture, according to Premier Sotheby’s International Realty.

“Sarasota is quickly establishing itself as the young person’s Naples, with an unprecedented number of homes being offered at this price point and an amazing cultural and restaurant scene,” Nicolau said in a statement.

Construction is expected to wrap up in June. The 8,165-square-foot home at 5151 Jungle Plum Road is within the Hidden Harbor community. It is marketed for sale by Joel Schemmel of Premier Sotheby’s International Realty’s Downtown Sarasota office.

“This Siesta Key gem is situated in a charming old-Florida style community, a boater’s paradise mere moments from award-winning white sandy beaches,” Schemmel said in a statement. “The home, currently undergoing meticulous construction, promises an unparalleled living experience, marked by architectural significance and an exceptional location.”

The home is designed by DSDG Architects and will have six bedrooms, six full bathrooms and two partial bathrooms. The great room includes a two-story accent wall and fireplace. The home also has a floor-to-ceiling wine wall and bar, a chef’s kitchen with Miele appliances and floor-to-ceiling glass walls that connect to the outdoor living areas.

The second floor features an owner’s retreat with a private balcony. All five guest bedrooms have en suite bathrooms, and three have patio access.

Outdoor amenities include an oversized pool with a clear-walled infinity edge, spa and sunshelf. There is also an outdoor kitchen and dining area, wet bar and fire pit. The property features 150 feet of waterfront and deep water and a dock that can accommodate “yachts, sport fishing boats or daily cruisers,” according to the listing.

According to Premier Sotheby’s, this is the only new construction modern home over $15 million for sale in Sarasota County. It is also one of two homes on the market that can accommodate a yacht and other large boats with this amount of waterfront property, Sotheby’s said.
