A Pilates studio with a cult following will be entering Tampa Bay with an upcoming location in St. Petersburg’s Edge district.

Miami-based PTM Partners and Fort Lauderdale-based DoveHill Capital Management said Solidcore has signed a lease for a 2,142-square-foot storefront on the ground floor of the Moxy Hotel. Solidcore has more than 110 locations in 25 states and five locations in Florida. The Moxy by Marriott Hotel is currently under construction at 1234-1245 Central Ave.

“Seeking relevant retail and wellness lifestyle brands to bring to the Edge district is an important part of facilitating our commercial strategy for this rapidly growing district,” Shari Neissani, vice president of development for PTM Partners, said in a release. “[solidcore]’s popularity and success across the U.S. makes this an in-demand addition, and the brand’s overall appeal makes it a great fit for the Edge district’s diversified consumer base.”

Solidcore was founded in 2013 and offers a range of 50-minute “high-intensity, low-impact full-body workouts on Pilates-inspired reformers.” The company focuses on “empowering communities” and creating spaces where everyone feels “inspired, included and seen.”

The chain is actively expanding to Florida’s West Coast, and the Moxy Hotel will be a key part of the expansion.

When complete, the Moxy Hotel will have 163 rooms and a “highly amenitized” ground floor lobby, including a coffee shop and juice bar, health, wellness and beauty spaces, a podcast studio and a lobby bar that opens onto Central Avenue. The hotel also has an 8,000-square-foot rooftop bar and restaurant called Sparrow, a rooftop pool, an outdoor garden and arcade. It’s expected to open in spring 2024.

“Located at the Moxy Hotel Edge Collective, Solidcore is excited to bring the blue lights and its signature [shakes] to the St. Pete workout scene,” Heidi Blesy, vice president of studio development at Solidcore, said in a release. “The Edge district’s vibrancy and sense of community is the perfect place to welcome the first studio in the Tampa area.”

The hotel is part of the mixed-use Edge Collective from PTM Partners and DoveHill Capital Management. The Edge Collective project also includes “the redeveloped and modernization of the 110-year-old 1246 Central Ave. building with 8,000 square feet of ground-floor [food and beverage] and 16,000 square feet of office space,” according to the group.

The development team recently announced phase two of the project, which features a 500,000-square-foot mixed-use destination.
