King State’s St. Petersburg location will officially open on Dec. 12 in the Harlan Hotel.

The coffee roaster, bar and restaurant opened in Tampa in 2019 and announced it would expand to St. Pete in February. The new location, 15 Eighth St. N, shares space with COhatch, a coworking company that opened in October. King State was founded by Nate Young and Tim McTague.

King State announced on social media it would be hosting a grand opening party on Dec. 8 starting at 4 p.m. with a DJ and open bar. There will be no food at the grand opening event. Its first full day of service will be Dec. 12 from 8 a.m. to 12 a.m. Dinner reservations will begin at 5 p.m.

“We’re beyond stoked, we are beyond ready,” the restaurant posted. “These last few weeks have been all hands on deck, and we couldn’t be more proud of the team. We’re so pumped to share with y’all what we’ve been working on.”

The St. Pete kitchen will be led by head chef Brett Wright, who is also the chef for the Tampa Heights location.

A menu has not yet been posted for the St. Pete location, but social media posts have teased breakfast bowls, sandwiches and salads.
