Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo has added a $1.6 million Pinellas County home to his name, according to records filed with the county.

The three-story house in South Pasadena features four bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, with 360-degree views of the surrounding water and a heated pool. The lot is more than 7,000 square feet, according to the listing on Realtor.com. The purchase was first reported by Florida Politics on Saturday.

There’s no record that Ladapo has applied for a homestead exemption on the property, making it unclear whether he intends to use the address as his primary home.

Ladapo earns $262,000 as a tenured faculty member in the College of Medicine at the University of Florida. Between the UF job and his surgeon general role, he’s paid a total of $437,000 per year.

The Pinellas County home is a more than two-hour drive to UF, and more than four hours from Tallahassee.

A recent Politico report noted that some UF professors have raised questions about how often Ladapo is at the Gainesville campus.

Ladapo did not return a request for comment left with the Florida Department of Health.
