RETURN TO NEWS INDEX Coconut Charlie’s Beach Bar & Grill coming to North Redington Beach The restaurant will be located in the DoubleTree Beach Resort Tampa Bay, North Redington Beach at 17120 Gulf Blvd. It is replacing the Mangos Restaurant and Tiki Bar. The property is undergoing extensive renovation and is expected to open in the first quarter of 2024.
“The DoubleTree team is hyped to announce that our fantastic restaurant space — and everyone’s favorite tiki hut — will rebrand as Coconut Charlie’s,” Mike Hook, general manager of DoubleTree Beach Resort, said in a release. “This is a fresh, fun beach bar concept that has proven extremely popular at our sister hotel, Hilton Garden Inn St. Pete Beach, and we can’t wait to introduce it here in North Redington Beach.”
The restaurant will feature fresh-catch items in tacos, sandwiches and bowls, as well as signature pastas, wraps, burgers and salads. Coconut Charlie’s also has handcrafted cocktails, boozy slushies and local brews.
This is the fourth location for the restaurant. The original location is in St. Pete Beach, and the beach bar has since expanded to Hyatt Place Panama City Beach in Florida and Homewood Suites Myrtle Beach in South Carolina.
“Coconut Charlie’s Beach Bar & Grill is where you’ll find the best dishes and drinks in town, with casual bites at the tiki hut beach bar and a more elevated experience at the grill, all just steps from the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico,” Hook said.
The DoubleTree Beach Resort was built in 1987 and is owned and operated by OTO Development, which is part of The Johnson Group. OTO Development acquired the hotel in June 2022. It is less than 10 minutes from John’s Pass Village and 15 minutes from the St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport. |
