RETURN TO NEWS INDEX Art collectors’ Siesta Key waterfront estate hits the market at $21 million The roughly 7,750-square-foot home is located at 8250 Sanderling Road. It sits on a roughly 1.5-acre lot. The beachfront estate is marketed by Joel Schemmel of the Schemmel Soda Group at Premier Sotheby’s International Realty’s Sarasota office.
“Architectural brilliance meets coastal-contemporary luxury in this exceptional estate,” Schemmel said in a statement. “Situated within the prestigious Sanderling Club on Siesta Key, this home affords exclusive access to a host of high-end amenities to accompany an unparalleled beachfront lifestyle.”
Siesta Key is one of the Tampa Bay area's wealthiest ZIP codes, according to Tampa Bay Business Journal research.
The home was built in 2000 and includes five bedrooms, five full bathrooms and two partial baths. The home has housed the Crouses’ highly coveted art deco poster collection and acted as a private museum. The Crouses purchased the home in 2014 for $8.85 million, according to a deed filed in Sarasota County.
The couple did an extensive renovation of the home in collaboration with renowned architects Guy Peterson, Michael K. Walker and Richard Geary.
The home is “elegantly composed of four rectangular pavilions” and “layers of concrete, intricate cutouts and artful glass details adorn the modern façade.” Unique attributes include a custom bar, a dining room with concrete columns, floor-to-ceiling windows and a custom kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances and dual islands.
The property is in Sanderling Club on Siesta Key and is within a 24-hour, guard-gated community. It offers exclusive access to the Paul Rudolph-designed beach clubhouse and tennis courts. The community also has a marina with boat docks. |
