RETURN TO NEWS INDEX Chick-fil-A proposed for Crossroads Center on Tyrone Boulevard Plans filed with the city show a Chick-fil-A is proposed for the location of the former TGI Fridays at 2190 Tyrone Blvd. N, which is adjacent to a Starbucks. The fast-food restaurant is proposed to be built on an outparcel at the Crossroads Center, which is anchored by Home Depot.
The restaurant is expected to be just under 5,000 square feet and will have roughly 70 indoor seats and 16 outdoor seats via a small dining patio. The restaurant will also have two drive-thru lanes under a large canopy.
According to the city documents, Tampa-based civil engineering company Bohler is part of the development team for the project.
The existing TGI Fridays building will be demolished to make way for the new fast-food restaurant. A Chick-fil-A currently exists approximately a mile away at 2471 Tyrone Blvd. N.
Chick-fil-A is best known for its chicken sandwiches, nuggets and milkshakes. The Georgia-based chicken restaurant opened its first mall location in 1967 and its first standalone restaurant in 1986. According to its website, there are more than 2,600 restaurants across 47 states, Washington, D.C., Canada and Puerto Rico.
The Crossroads Center is also home to T.J. Maxx, Ross Dress for Less, Office Depot, Burlington and Navy Federal Credit Union. The shopping plaza is across the street from the Tyrone Square Mall. |
