RETURN TO NEWS INDEX Staffing firm signs lease in TECO's new headquarters building in Midtown Tampa Insight Global has signed a lease for 20,000 square feet in Midtown East, the 18-story office tower under construction in the mixed-use Midtown Tampa. It is 430,000 square feet.
The master developer of Midtown, New York-based Bromley Cos., is developing the tower in a joint venture with Highwoods Properties Inc., one of Tampa’s largest office landlords. Highwoods said Monday that the deal is an expansion for Insight Global and that the firm occupied 13,8000 square feet in Corporate Center II at International Plaza.
“Insight Global is thrilled to soon call Midtown East home,” Brittany Arnold, real estate director for Insight Global, said in a statement. “It’s not just a change of address; it’s a step forward in our company’s growth, and we couldn’t be happier with the location. With the abundance of amenities within easy reach, our employees will truly be able to embrace a live-work-play lifestyle.”
Midtown East has already landed Tampa Electric Co. and Peoples Gas as anchor tenant; the utilities will own their 296,000 square feet in an office condominium structure and move their combined headquarters to Midtown from downtown Tampa in 2025. Highwoods and Midtown jointly own the remainder of the office tower as well as the retail space on the ground floor.
“We are elated to welcome one of Tampa’s leading companies in the people business, Insight Global, to Midtown East,” Dan Woodward, Highwoods senior vice president and Tampa market leader, said in a statement. “As a global purpose-driven company dedicated to empowering people, we couldn’t be happier to receive Insight Global’s endorsement as the best address to recruit, retain and return talent to the workplace.”
Jodi Selvey, Joanne LeBlanc and Meredith Selvey with Colliers Tampa Bay represented Insight Global in the lease transaction. Lauren Coup and Brad Heeter represented Highwoods.
While Midtown Tampa is technically within the boundaries of the Westshore business district, most executives view the two districts as different destinations from a corporate real estate perspective. Primo Water moved its headquarters to Midtown from Westshore. The same dynamic is unfolding in downtown Tampa, where some companies are choosing The Heights and Water Street Tampa over the central business district. |
