The H, an Orlando steakhouse, to take over Copperfish space in South Tampa

A long-dormant South Tampa restaurant property will be reborn as The H, a Mediterranean steakhouse concept from Orlando.

Tampa's Architectural Review Commission on Oct. 4 approved designs for the new concept, which will demolish the existing restaurant. A single-family home on the property, which was built in 1922, will remain. The project is now eligible to apply for building permits.

Tyler Hudson, a partner at Gardner Brewer Hudson Law in Tampa, is representing the restaurant ownership.

The H is slated to open in the fourth quarter of 2024, Hudson told the Tampa Bay Business Journal.

The property was home to Copperfish, which closed in 2014. At one point, it was targeted for redevelopment into townhouses.
