Home on Ballast Point waterfront listed for sale at $10 million

A Ballast Point home that occupies a full acre on the open bay has been listed for sale for $10 million.

Jennifer Zales of Coldwell Banker Realty is marketing 5718 S. Gordon Ave. for sale. It was built in 2018 by Sample Properties and combines “old Florida charm” with a “Key West feel,” Zales said in a statement.

“Some of the top requests I get from homebuyers are newer elevated homes, built to stringent building codes and on larger waterfront lots,” she said. “Rarely do I find homes that meet all of these criteria.”

The home, which is in Ballast Point’s Shell Point area, is 5,000 square feet and has five bedrooms and six and a half bathrooms. The property also includes a three-car garage and a cottage with storage and living space.

Land values on Ballast Point, Zales said, are starting to catch up with Davis Islands, which is home to some of Tampa’s most expensive real estate.

“There is so much going on in the Shell Point area of Ballast Point,” she said. “It’s almost unrecognizable when you drive down around Bayshore Boulevard and the Tampa Yacht Club area. The number of high-value homes that are under construction, or that have been constructed but are not for sale yet, is tremendous.”
