RETURN TO NEWS INDEX National builder buys one of Riverview's last developable tracts Atlanta-based Pulte Homes paid over $43 million for more than 200 acres in Riverview and Apollo Beach on Sept 11. Public records link the transaction to Jen Partners, which invests in homebuilders and residential land. A spokesperson for Pulte confirmed the builder's involvement in the deal.
The majority of the land acquisition is off Simmons Loop and Simmons Ranch Court, where 197 acres will be developed into a new community called Spencer Glen. The land buy also includes two properties that will be developed into two boutique communities of fewer than 30 homes each: Riversedge, at 9545 Carr Road, and Hawks Grove at 15405 Boyette Road.
The builder will also introduce a new product line in Waterset, a master-planned community in South Hillsborough County. The new Waterset homes are at Covington Garden Drive and Wolf Creek Drive in Apollo Beach.
“Buyers want to live in Southern Hillsborough County because of its proximity to downtown Tampa, jobs and all the other conveniences and entertainment options Tampa Bay offers," Sean Strickler, Pulte's West Florida division president, said in a statement. "That popularity, combined with difficulties with rezoning available land in Hillsborough County, also means there isn’t much land remaining. These communities have been highly sought after by developers and builders for years."
It is Pulte's second major land acquisition in as many months. The builder recently bought 300 acres in Pasco County. |
