A historic St. Petersburg home designed by pioneering architect Edgar Ferdon is on the market for $3.5 million.

Caryn Rightmyer and Bill Caulfield of Premier Sotheby’s International Realty’s St. Petersburg office are marketing the home at 2240 Coffee Pot Blvd. NE for sale.

Ferdon also designed St. Pete’s Crislip Arcade, the First Congregational Church and the American Bank and Trust building.

“The historic significance of this estate is further underscored by its exceptional design and timeless elegance, which was crafted for grand entertaining. Residents will enjoy the privilege of living in an iconic piece of St. Petersburg’s history while embracing the comfort and convenience of modern amenities,” Rightmyer and Caulfield said in a statement.

The home, originally known as the Godsey House, is 3,637 square feet with views of Coffee Pot Bayou. It sits on a 14,693-square-foot lot. It was originally owned by CJ Godsey, “a notable plumbing contractor and businessman, and his wife, a talented soprano who graced the local radio waves and society events,” according to Sotheby’s.

It has four bedrooms, three full bathrooms and two half bathrooms. Outside, the property boasts a “resort-style pool with a pergola, courtyards, a basketball court, a detached two-car garage and a spacious yard,” Sotheby’s said.
