CBRE Tampa debuts 'Workplace360' office in The Heights

CBRE Group Inc. has officially moved to its new home in Tampa Heights.

The commercial real estate brokerage occupies 17,455 square feet on the street level of Heights Union, the office complex in the mixed-use Heights district. CBRE’s space was initially designed as three separate retail bays, and it has floor-to-ceiling windows throughout the space.

The new office features CBRE’s Workplace360 design. No one — including Managing Director Mike DiBlasi — has a permanent seat. There are collaborative workspaces and private office pods throughout the space. It’s a tech-forward space with meeting rooms designed for pitching clients in other markets. For example, there’s an interactive whiteboard that both in-person and remote employees can view simultaneously.

The office also includes a tech lab room. That space is where CBRE’s Workplace Technology Services team, based in Tampa, has a “secured internet connection to test new technologies for potential use in clients’ workplaces.”

CBRE debuted Workplace360 10 years ago, when it was still headquartered in Los Angeles, and has since rolled out the concept in more than 100 locations.

“Our CBRE design team drew from the existing building’s industrial influence to create a dynamic space featuring commissioned artwork, a two-story community gathering area with stadium seating and a private outdoor space,” DiBlasi said in a statement.

For CBRE, Workplace360 isn’t just about luring employees back into the office. While the Workplace360 concept pre-dates the pandemic-led conversion to remote and hybrid work, it’s based on convincing corporate clients they need to lease office space — and demonstrating that CBRE offers tailor-made solutions to all of their workplace issues.

“Our new Workplace360 office serves as a showpiece and reflects the best-in-class workplace experience and innovation for our employees and clients,” Peter Van Emburgh, global head of CBRE’s corporate real estate, said in a statement. “In Tampa, we prioritized a variety of work areas and the latest technologies that support hybrid working, embrace diversity in work styles and support productivity and performance.”
