RETURN TO NEWS INDEX Junior penthouse at Tampa Edition is on the market Unit 2501 — one floor below the top-level penthouse owned by Tampa Bay Lightning owner Jeff Vinik and his wife, Penny — is listed for sale by Paul DeSantis of Premier Sotheby's International Realty at $5.9 million.
Excluding pre-construction listings for units in One Tampa and Pendry Tampa, the Edition junior penthouse is the second most expensive condo on the market in Tampa. A unit in Hyde Park House on Bayshore Boulevard is listed at $7.7 million.
The Edition originally was to have 37 units; Bayshore Capital LLC principal and CEO Tready Smith and her husband, Thayer Smith, originally purchased the entire 25th floor and worked with developer SPP to split the floor into two units. The Smiths then sold their contract for 2501 to Michael O'Rourke, co-founder and CEO of Tampa-based Pocket Network.
O'Rourke transferred ownership of the unit a Wyoming-based entity earlier this year.
The Edition opened to residents in 2022. The unit is just under 2,500 square feet and has a 1,152-square-foot wraparound balcony. It has three bedrooms, three full bathrooms and one half-bathroom. The Edition is Tampa's first luxury-branded residences; the Ritz-Carlton Residences, Tampa, is under construction on Bayshore Boulevard, and Pendry Tampa is in the planning stages in downtown Tampa. |
