RETURN TO NEWS INDEX Sarasota design firm expands to St. Petersburg The company, established in 2002, opened an office at 2220 Central Ave. Unit D, in St. Petersburg’s Grand Central district on July 21. This is the first branch for the Sarasota firm. The office is near Pete’s Bagels, The Dog Bar, Par Bar, Coastal Creative, Black Crow Coffee and Tombolo Books.
Some of Sweet Sparkman Architecture and Interiors’ projects include the St. Petersburg Sanitation Complex — currently under construction — and the Largo Fire Station 43, which won the 2018 Florida West Coast Branch American Public Works Association Project of the Year.
It also designed Fire Station 22 at St. Pete Beach and the Lealman Fire Station 19. The company also worked on the campus of Eckerd College for several years, including the design of the Eckerd College Franklin Templeton building renovation.
“This endeavor, opening an office here in the heart of St. Pete, is really to cement our dedication to the community, as well as being able to better serve it,” Todd Sweet, founding partner for Sweet Sparkman Architecture and Interiors, said in a release.
The firm decided to move to St. Pete due to “ongoing involvement” with the city. Sweet said the future of St. Pete is bright and that he hopes the firm will contribute to said future in “a larger way.”
St. Pete provides an environment “rich with youthful energy and an appetite for innovative design that lends itself well to Sweet Sparkman’s team of bold, inventive designers committed to design excellence,” according to the release.
Its Sarasota headquarters is located at 119 Main Street, Suite 400. |
