Amped Fitness opening two new Tampa Bay locations

Amped Fitness has acquired four former YouFit gyms in Florida, two of which are in Tampa Bay.

These acquisitions and the company's recent franchise announcement are part of Amped Fitness' growth strategy. The new clubs will be in Tampa (Carrollwood), Tallahassee, Sarasota (Tuttle) and Fort Lauderdale. They will undergo a 90-day brand renovation, according to a release.

"We are so excited to bring Amped Fitness to these four new cities; we can't wait to share what else we've got going on behind the scenes," said the CEO of Amped Fitness, Travis Labazzo, in a statement.

Amped Fitness has grown locally since 2016, when owners Labazzo and Stephen Thomas opened their first club in St. Petersburg. Since then, the company has expanded to 17 corporate-owned clubs with over 70,000 members while maintaining an average year-over-year growth of 115%.

"Our goal has always been to provide a next-level fitness experience to the community, and we will never lose sight of the importance of making sure our members feel empowered to adopt a healthy lifestyle," said Labazzo in the release.

All four gyms are projected to open in September.
