RETURN TO NEWS INDEX Mattamy Homes signs office deal at Midtown Tampa Mattamy Homes has leased 4,000 square feet in Midtown West, the eight-story office building that fronts North Dale Mabry Highway. Other tenants in Midtown West include Kforce Inc., which moved its headquarters there, as well as SouthState Bank, PGIM Inc. and Primo Water.
A Mattamy representative said the builder will use the space as a satellite office.
The first phase of Midtown’s office space includes Midtown West and the Loft at Midtown, which features creative office space with an emphasis on collaborative work areas, 15-foot ceilings, skylights and an outdoor terrace.
New York-based Bromley Cos. is the master developer of Midtown. Bromley developed Midtown West in a joint venture with Highwoods Properties Inc., a North Carolina-based real estate investment trust that is among the Tampa Bay area’s largest office landlords.
“Full occupancy of Midtown Tampa is a remarkable milestone, achieved through offering customers an unparalleled workplace experience and world-class amenities,” Dan Woodward, Highwoods senior vice president and Tampa market leader, said in a statement. “The market’s overwhelming response to Midtown Tampa is a testament to the success of its live-work-play ecosystem and the continued rise of Tampa on the national stage.”
Highwoods and Bromley are also partners on Midtown East, an 18-story office tower under construction on the eastern end of the property. That tower is 430,000 square feet; Highwoods and Bromley will own 134,000 square feet. Tampa Electric Co. and Peoples Gas will own the remainder of the tower’s office space in a condominium structure. The utilities will move to Midtown from downtown Tampa when the tower is complete in 2025.
“We are making good progress on the eastern tower,” Nicholas Haines, CEO of Bromley, said in a statement. “Our permits are secured, foundations are underway and we are preparing now to break ground on the garage expansion. Midtown East will be a key addition to the entire Midtown Tampa project.” |
