RETURN TO NEWS INDEX Miami cannabis company relocates headquarters to Tampa he multistate cannabis company, which operates under the brand Fluent, cited Tampa’s talent pool, business friendly policies and overall quality of life as key factors of the move, according to a statement.
“Our ultimate goal with this relocation is to connect the brain with the heart of the company and centralize our workforce,” CEO Robert Beasley said. “We believe our relocation is not only the best decision for our employees and culture but a smart, fiscally responsible decision for the company’s shareholders. We look forward to providing good-paying jobs to the Tampa community as Fluent further scales its operations in Florida.”
Over the next four months, Fluent plans to create 30 jobs from finance to human resources, marketing, sales and other key positions. Those positions will have an average salary of $100,000, according to the company.
Tampa was already a hub for Fluent’s cultivation and production facilities, according to Beasley. The company did not release the office location.
Fluent, the sixth-largest cannabis retailer in Florida, opened its 34th nationwide retail location in Pensacola earlier this month. Fluent also operates in Pennsylvania and is one of only three cannabis companies with a license in Texas, according to Beasley.
Founded in 2018, Fluent is traded on the Canadian Securities Exchange under the ticker TIUM.U. Last year, the company reported $87.7 million in revenue and $44 million in gross profit, versus $65.4 million in revenue and $41.9 million in profit in 2021, according to financial statements.
The Tampa Economic Development Council had a hand in recruiting Fluent to the region.
“Listed as the best place to live in the Sunshine State, we are proud to be the new home for Fluent’s global HQ, and look forward to working closely with the company’s leadership team to establish strong talent pipelines, connect transitioning employees with the local community and ensure that the company’s relocation is seamless,” Tampa EDC Chairman Angel Gonzalez said in a statement. |
