St. Croix Capital Companies enters Tampa market with high profile building acquisition

May 1, 2023 (Tampa, FL) – St. Croix Capital Companies, an Austin-headquartered commercial real estate firm, has made its entry into the Tampa market with the acquisition of 303 N. Rome Avenue in the heart of Tampa’s North Hyde Park.

“We’re excited to be doing business in Tampa,” said Ken Satterlee, who is one of the principals of St. Croix Capital Companies, along with his wife, Christi. “We have established a team of local partners and look forward to becoming as engaged in this community as we have in every community where we’ve done business the past 40 years.”

The 6508-square-foot building acquired in December is home to three high-profile tenants: Rome & Fig Global Bistro, Bottlesmith and Synergistiq Wellness.

“Location, tenant quality, and remaining term on in-place leases made this an attractive acquisition for us,” said Jeremy Peterson, senior vice president, Austin, and Tampa market president, St. Croix Capital Companies. “Although a small investment, the stability of this asset will act as a backbone for our future operations in Tampa.”

Peterson is responsible for the firm’s acquisition and leasing activities in Tampa including sourcing, structuring, negotiating, financing, and closing investment and development opportunities.

Peterson sees similarities between Tampa and his hometown of Austin, and thinks the synergy will help St. Croix to be successful moving into the new marketplace.

“Tampa and Austin both have a young, well-educated population, living in an energetic city with a diverse culture, in a business-friendly state,” he said. “We see a lot of opportunity in this market and look forward to planting roots here through creative, community-focused investments.”

Christi Satterlee brings more than 30 years of legal and title experience to the team. Her expertise provides St. Croix with another set of checks and balances to the equation of commercial real estate development and acquisition.
