RETURN TO NEWS INDEX Gold's Gym signs lease in Gas Worx in downtown Tampa Gold's Gym will lease the 25,000-square-foot triangle-shaped warehouse at 802 N 12th St., directly south of Four Green Fields. Gas Worx developer Darryl Shaw has owned those warehouses since 2016. Four Green Fields signed its lease there in late 2020.
Tampa resident Kimberlee Curtis is the franchisee behind the Gas Worx location.
"With Kimberlee's visionary leadership, this gym is more than just a place to workout — it is helping to create a vibrant and inclusive urban community," Shaw said in a statement. "And it's not just about fitness; it's about the health and well-being of the entire community."
It is the second fitness concept Shaw has brought to the Ybor City area this year. He's also signed a deal with Tampa Pickleball Crew to open a covered pickleball facility in a warehouse along East Second Avenue.
"The Gold's Gym brand embodies everything fitness enthusiasts and I love about strength training," Curtis said in a statement. "Opening the first-ever Gold's Gym in downtown Tampa will create a positive and supportive environment where members can achieve their goals, motivate one another, and make new friends while building a real sense of community."
The Gold's Gym in Gas Worx will have indoor and outdoor training spaces as well as "specialty equipment rooms, posing studio, smoothie bar, pro shop, personal training, luxury locker rooms and an upgraded membership option for the use of a private lounge/co-working space," a news release said Monday.
“Downtown Tampa is about to get stronger," said Kevin Christie, Gold's Gym vice president of franchising, in a statement. "We are thrilled to work with Kimberlee and her partners who have signed development rights to open multiple Gold’s Gym locations within the greater Tampa/St Pete/Sarasota market.” |
