RETURN TO NEWS INDEX Microsoft Windows devices to be assembled in Pasco at new facility Fusion5 has signed a lease for a 5,000-square-foot building in the West Pasco Industrial Park, the Pasco County Economic Development Council said. The company will invest $250,000 in improvements to the property and plans to create 30 jobs.
The Pasco location will prioritize the assembly of affordable devices that use the Microsoft Windows operating system, the Pasco EDC said. Fusion5 also has a facility in Frisco, Texas. The laptops and tablets produced at the Pasco facility will be sold throughout North America.
“When I was looking for a new location for our assembly line, I saw the number of technical schools and training programs Pasco County had to offer, as well as the area's potential for future expansion," Gandhi Perla, Fusion5 founder and CEO, said in a statement. "I knew right away that this was the right choice for our business."
Perla did his own site-selection research and contacted the county's economic growth office, which referred him to the EDC. The EDC said it will assist Perla with "Foreign Trade Zone and export connections, business to business connections for local products, supplies and equipment, workforce data, and connections to local workforce training partners." |
