RETURN TO NEWS INDEX Affordable housing project in Seminole breaks ground Norstar Development USA, the Pinellas County Housing Authority and county officials will be breaking ground on the Valor Preserve affordable housing development on April 14. The units will be for renters making no more than 60% of the area median income.
The project, located at 9575 Seminole Blvd. in Seminole, will favor veteran applicants. Half of the units will be set aside for people with disabilities.
The development will have 58 one-bedroom and six two-bedroom apartments in one- and two-story buildings. The buildings will be in the style of Key West bungalows.
Pinellas County gave $1.7 million to the development from the State Housing Initiatives Partnership Program. It also received support from Raymond James Affordable Housing Investments, TIAA Bank, Florida Housing Finance Corp., the Home Depot Foundation and land acquisition funds from the Pinellas County Housing Authority.
Construction is expected to be complete by spring 2024. Application details will be released by the Pinellas County Housing Authority in early 2024. |
