A 125,000-square-foot, two-story entertainment venue plans to open in the Citrus Park Town Center Mall in early May.

Elev8 Fun, which took over the space formerly occupied by a Sears department store, is a reported $15 million project. It will be the company’s second Florida location, with the first being north of Orlando in Sanford, which opened in 2021.

“We’re reimagining and reenergizing these shopping centers, making them into spaces that the entire community can look forward to, from families to couples looking for a date night,” David Goldfarb, owner of Fort Lauderdale-based PrimeTime Amusements and a partner in the redevelopment project, said in a statement. “The Orlando area has embraced this concept with amazing success, and we’re excited to become part of and serve the Tampa community.”

The center will have an indoor go-kart track, over 100 vintage and modern arcade games, 12 bowling lanes, blacklight mini golf, axe throwing and a laser tag arena. The company will host a job fair from April 25-27 at the Courtyard by Marriott Tampa Northwest/Veterans Expressway to hire 250 full- and part-time workers.

Elev8 Fun’s new location has a full-service restaurant, two full-service bars and an outdoor beer garden, the release states.

The brand also has a concept under construction in South Florida, in Jensen Beach, and is looking at more than a dozen additional locations.
