Developer sues Indian Rocks Beach after city halts project a month before completion

The city of Indian Rocks Beach faces a lawsuit from a developer who was issued a stop-work order.

STR Development LLC, a short-term rental property developer, filed a complaint in Pinellas County Circuit Court on Wednesday against Indian Rocks Beach, asking the court to immediately block enforcement of a stop-work order and allow construction to continue on a six-unit lodging project. The city issued the order after about 18 months of construction, claiming the building exceeds height limits.
