Publix to invest $200M in Lakeland warehouse expansion

Publix Super Markets Inc.⁠ is preparing to expand its logistics footprint with a new distribution and return center at its warehouse campus.

The Lakeland-based grocery chain is planning a 402,405-square-foot warehouse distribution center and a 58,303-square-foot return center at 5300 Allen K. Breed Highway, according to building permits filed with the city of Lakeland. This is an expansion of the existing Publix warehouse campus, about a mile and a half away, at 2600 County Line Road.
