Whataburger to open first Polk County restaurant

Tampa Bay's sixth Whataburger⁠ is taking shape, as the Texas-based fast-food chain continues to expand across the region.

The burger joint is opening its first location in Polk County within a 58-acre retail development in Davenport. Whataburger will be built from the ground up in an approximately 3,000-square-foot space at 41176 Highway 27, according to county permits.
