Energy company to break ground on $50M landfill gas facility in Manatee County

A Miami-based energy company is preparing to break ground on Manatee County’s first landfill gas-to-renewable natural gas facility.

Nopetro Energy, in partnership with Johnson Controls, will break ground next month on its $50 million Bradenton facility that will capture waste gas from the Lena Road Landfill and convert it into natural gas. Operations are expected to begin in 2027.
