Another smaller-format Walmart planned in this fast-growing Manatee County area

Walmart Inc. is planning to open one of its smaller-format stores in a larger mixed-use development in Manatee County.

The Bentonville, Arkansas-based retailer will open a 52,400-square-foot Neighborhood Market store that will anchor Artisan Palmetto Retail West, a 20-acre retail development at the intersection of Buckeye Road and Artisan Lakes Parkway in Palmetto, Troy Simpson, president of Kolter's mixed-use division, told the Tampa Bay Business Journal. There will also be a liquor store and a Walmart-branded fuel station.
