The Jackson House, a historic boarding house in downtown Tampa, has partially collapsed — but one of its largest financial supporters says they're still hopeful the property can be preserved.

WTSP on Tuesday afternoon reported that the house, operated as a boarding house for African Americans during racial segregation, continues to crumble. The city has issued an emergency repair permit to fix and expand the area where a portion of the house fell onto the security fence, according to WTSP.
